About the event
We are excited to feature Doctors and Nurses for Planetary Health – Kootenay Boundary (DNPH-KB) for our May webinar, and hear about the ongoing projects they are involved in.
Recognizing the direct relationship between planetary health and human health and wellbeing, this local group was formed 2 years ago. They are healthcare providers who have expanded their scope of practice beyond individual and community care to include a focus on care of the planet. Their aim is to urgently advocate for the rapid adoption of policies, practices and structural changes that protect and restore planetary health.
“This is a very exciting time to be alive in the world and so much work is being done,” says Judith Fearing, nurse and one of the founding members of DNPH-KB. “Joining with others is inspirational and motivating.”
UN secretary general António Guterres said in the March 2023 IPCC report: “Our world needs climate action on all fronts: everything, everywhere, all at once.”
DNPH-KB is answering this call and we look forward to you joining us.
