About the event
This event has been postponed. Please watch for information on when it will be rescheduled.
Join an interactive workshop exploring strategies for meaningful climate action from a local business perspective. We will engage with participants’ on their business challenges and opportunities by putting local work into the broader global context with an interactive climate simulator.
Using the online tool En-ROADS, a tool that simulates the effect of climate policy changes, we’ll help participants better understand what impact different actions can have on the reduction of Green House Gas emissions.
Although the impacts of climate action are complex, En-ROADS helps us understand where emissions come from and what steps are available to reduce emissions.
We’ll take learnings from this global perspective to assess ways that your business can actively be part of the positive future that addresses climate change. Expect to be actively engaged with others in the business community to talk about opportunities and challenges in meeting our climate goals.
The workshop will be facilitated by Laura Sacks and Steven Cretney from the West Kootenay Climate Hub. Laura dedicates her time to climate advocacy and empowering others to take action and is trained as an En-ROADS climate ambassador and a Climate Reality Leader. Steven is designer and facilitator focused on endorsing social, environmental and educational initiatives.
Resources available for local businesses will also be shared.
Registration is $50 per business, which allows multiple staff from your organization to participate. Space is limited for this in-person event.
